New AKA Design Furniture For Composer David Arnold

David Arnold Composing Desk

AKA Design has been commissioned to build a custom composing desk, crafted from crown oak, for talented composer, David Arnold. This will be housed at David’s room at Air Studios and is his second AKA desk, following one installed in his home studio two years ago. The new composing desk features an integrated Doepfer Musikelektronik keyboard; AKA works with leading manufacturers like this worldwide, housing audio, broadcast, editing, grading and music production technology into its stylish studio furniture. David Arnold is best known for scoring five James Bond films, along with his Grammy-winning score for Independence Day, plus Emmy-winning work on television series, Sherlock. David’s new furniture from AKA will provide him with an ergonomic, stylish working area, integrating cable runs, I/O peripherals and studio outboard equipment. Another recent project for AKA Design included the design and installation of three new Avid S6 desks at Directors Cut Films in London, as part of the company’s major expansion and upgrade of its audio post-production facilities. AKA had worked with Directors Cut Films from the beginning of the refurb, ensuring the furniture enhanced the new spaces from both an aesthetic and a technical point of view. Music composition company, Mcasso, has also had a major overhaul of its Soho audio studios, as it looks to increase its audio post-production work. AKA was involved with all the room renovations, including the flagship Studio One, which features a specially designed oak desk that incorporates a built-in music keyboard. When this keyboard is not required, a cover fits flush with the furniture top, allowing full use of the desk’s surface.
