ENVY – Mortimer Street
Envy commissioned AKA to supply their new Mortimer Street with all of it’s technical and front of house furniture. The reception desk was constructed from stained Oak with a padded denim front façade and integrated mood lighting. The reception area also had a 12 seater main production desk constructed solid and veneered Daniella wood and tiles antique legs.
Goldcrest Films
Goldcrest Films needed a security barrier and reception desk for their new Soho facility and comissioned AKA to design and manufacture a two person reception desk. The reulting design incorporated the edge-lit security glass to give the appearance of it cutting through the desk. The desk was manufactured in Oak and white Corian and AKA was also asked to supply a matching bar.
SNK Studios
When SNK were renovating their Soho based facility AKA were commissioned to design and build a reception desk that included a small bar and runners station. We worked with the clients builders on the lighting and finishes, and supplied 3Ds to show the final designs before building started.
Big Bouy
AKA were commissioned by Big Bouy to move their entire facility to their new Soho Home. AKA designed and manufactured seven 3.5 meter Corian finishing desks and production areas and a stunning front of house Reception bar constructed in cast concrete and high gloss lacquer with integrated mood lighting.
Molinare
When Molinare’s extensive refurbishment project was undertaken, AKA was asked to supply a curved four seater reception desk and tea bar. The front face was made from sections of alibaster/onyx stone that was back lit and wrapped in a leather frame. The body of the desk was constructed from solid and veneered walnut and the same style was carried through to the adjacent tea bar. AKA also supplied the Molinare signage that was hand leather wrapped to compliment the area.
Smoke & Mirrors
Smoke & Mirrors commissioned AKA to move their entire facility to their new Poland street home this included desking for over 100 after-effects staff, three audio, 5 finishing and two grading suites. As part of the contract AKA were also asked to design and build the reception and bar for their new front of house. This was manufactured from sand blasted English oak. Corian and high gloss lacquer to create this contemporary yet friendly reception area.
Autograph
Autograph, Europe’s leading theatre sound design and Rental Company, wanted to re-vamp their reception area. AKA designed and installed two curved desks and associated storage, stationary and filing units. The Autograph logo was integrated into the front face of both main desks by using a slumped perspex that was edge lit to give a striking 3D effect.
The Farm Group
When the Farm wanted a new reception for their flagship facility in Soho square AKA designed and installed a reception desk with associated storage that was in keeping with the period of this beautiful building while giving it a modern feel. The doors and storage were in a clean Quaker style with the main desk constructed from solid stained English oak with a padded and buttoned front screen.
Argentum
Argentum contacted AKA after they had moved into their new headquarters in the city and required a statement reception desk to complete their offices. AKA designed and built a solid oak desk with a distressed rusted front panel, including lighting and embossed logo. The desk was manufactured off site and was installed within one working day thus minimising disruption within this area.
Remark!
Remark! are the largest Deaf-run company in the UK specialising in all aspects of television production and multi-media. AKA supplied a solid and veneered walnut with a panel effect fronted reception desk to hold both bookings and reception services. The desk was manufactured at AKA’s premises and was installed within one working day to minimise disruption to the client.
Tequila
This world renowned advertising agency commissioned AKA for a new reception desk for their London premises in Soho. The resulting desk was manufactured in solid and veneered walnut with associated storage and despatch point. The last image shows our 3D which is a good example of how our initial designs relate back to the finish piece.
Wave, Amsterdam
When Wave Amsterdam decided to open a new facility in the heart of Amsterdam, AKA were commissioned to design their reception and a five metre bar / kitchen area. When the site was ready AKA sent a two man team to install the furniture over a weekend resulting in the facility being up and running Monday morning. Both pieces had feature lighting and housed dish washers, sinks, fridges and coffee machines.
